Successful CreaseStream launch by Tech-ni-Fold Printingtalk
Tech-ni-Fold have already sold their first 20 machines as a result of launching their new CreaseStream creasing and perforating machines at IPEX. Managing Director of the UK creasing specialists, Graham Harris explains “This is only the start as well know digital print manufacturers are also lining up for discussions, this clearly underlines our belief that we are taking digital finishing to a completely new level.” The CreaseStream Junior was the star attraction. It is a basic hand fed table top machine that was designed for digital and Litho printing companies that produce low volume print runs, however because it can hand feed up to 4,000 sheets per hour it also appealed to those that produce longer runs of 5,000 and above. In September Tech-ni-Fold will bring out the automatic version, the CreaseStream plus, the proto-type was shown at IPEX and the Leicestershire based company had to take names of companies wanting to secure a unit from the first batch. The reaction from their distributors was remarkable as the multi-print finishing unit reached production output of almost 20,000 A4 sheets per hour. Tech-ni-Fold has sold over 55,000 Tri-Creasers for use on folding machines and print finishing equipment and have supplied Heidelberg for the past 9 years. Their patented creasing device is said to be the only rotary system in the world that can produce the letterpress style of creasing that eliminates digital cracking. The Tri-Creaser incorporates a specially formulated and softer circular creasing rib that easily inserts into a male collar on a rotating shaft, once this engages with one of a series of channels on the female drum which is fixed to the other shaft, it produces profound results. The softer creasing application gently stretches and manipulates the fibres of the stock to produce much deeper crease penetration so that cracking is avoided
